Four Seasons - Chapter 3

Four Seasons - Fall, Chapter 3 is up (and added to the book)

David Eddings once said, “Write a million words–the absolute best you can write, then throw it all away and bravely turn your back on what you have written. At that point, you’re ready to begin.”

I’m a late starter to the writing game and not anywhere close to that number (maybe 350K max), but Eddings’s point was less about the number or words and more about the age-old idiom ‘Practice Makes Perfect’.

I know with absolute certainty I am a better writer now than I was when I started. And I hope in another five years I will say the same thing when I look back at the previous five years. I don’t have any delusions about writing a best seller or winning a Pulitzer. But if I can get better with each book, I’ll be content.

On a completely unrelated note, yesterday was the first day of Spring and the weather is beautiful today. But this is what it looked like out our back door a few weeks ago—and that was beautiful too.

Happy reading…see you next week.
